Minnesota
Ironman Bike Ride This year marks the
45th anniversary of the Minnesota IronmanŽ Bicycle Ride and the 1st annual
Minnesota Grand Fondo! Ride date is Sunday, May 1, 2011.
Any
event with a 45 year history needs to inspire itself to greater challenges and
rewards for its riders. We decided to add the Minnesota Gran Fondo, a timed bike
event, to the 2011 Ironman Ride. This event will run concurrently, same time and
same routes, as the traditional Minnesota Ironman. We also decided to add a 17
mile route to our roster of 30, 68 and 100 mile routes. Our 17 mile route should
attract more youth and families and adults new to bicycling. www.IronmanBikeRide.org.
